The Cambridge Police have recovered multiple shell casings after investigating a ShotSpotter activation and calls for possible gunshots early this morning in the area of Elm Street and Cambridge Street. Following the ShotSpotter activation and multiple calls, nearby Cambridge Police Officers quickly responded to Elm Street at approximately 3:22 a.m. for a report of possible shots fired. After canvassing the area and speaking to nearby residents, officers located multiple shell casings on the street. They also located evidence that shots were fired into a second story room of an Elm Street residence. Fortunately, there are no known injuries or victims.

The suspect is reportedly a black or Hispanic male, who was wearing dark pants and shoes, that walked to and left the area of the recovered gunshots from Cambridge Street.

Detectives were on the scene processing evidence early this morning and will be seeking and reviewing any nearby video surveillance footage.
