Shooting Incident at Richie's Shell on Cambridge Street

The Cambridge Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at Richie’s Shell this morning on 1001 Cambridge Street in Cambridge at 3:58 a.m. The victim is a 50-year-old clerk at the station, who confronted a black male outside the station after they stole a bottle of water. The suspect retrieved a bag from a vehicle, pulled out a firearm and shot at the clerk. The driver of the vehicle fled in one direction and the shooter fled on foot. 

The clerk was conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the shot grazed his foot. He has since been released from the hospital. After an initial investigation, officers recovered the firearm used in the shooting in a black plastic bag on Inman Street. The driver of the vehicle was also identified by officers, stopped and taken into the Cambridge Police Station for questioning.

The suspect who fled on foot is described as a black male with long hair. He was wearing dark pants and a blue shirt. Officers have identified that suspect and continue to investigate this incident.
