Cambridge Police responded to Western Avenue and Howard Street for a reported armed robbery in progress. A visitor to Cambridge had his backpack stolen by two individuals who referenced having a gun, but no gun was seen during the robbery.

Jeffrey Bailey, 24, of 31 Davison Street, Hyde Park, was arrested on a warrant out of Brookline District Court for Shoplifting by Asportation. Bailey was also arrested for two counts of receiving stolen property, bicycles, after he was observed walking two bicycles on Eliot Street in Harvard Square and gave multiple inconsistent statements as to why he was in possession of two bicycles.

A bicyclist approached a Cambridge Police cruiser in Central Square to seek assistance following a bicycle accident. The bicyclist had sustained minor injuries when a motorist parked and opened their door into the bike lane. The operator of the vehicle was identified and mailed a citation.

CAMBRIDGE ST

Cambridge Police responded to Cambridge Street near the intersection of Warren Street for a two car motor vehicle crash. Once on-scene, officers discovered that one of the operators had been living in Massachusetts for three years but did not have a valid Massachusetts Driver's License. The other operator complained of minor injuries. Mirian Dos Santos, 37, of 18 Russell Street, Malden, was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. As statements from those involved indicated Dos Santos had been using a cell phone at the time of the crash she was also cited for Unsafe Operation.

Cambridge Police placed Joseph Matthews, 41, of 26 Popular Street, Dorchester, under arrest for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Defrauding an Innkeeper, and Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Matthews ran from officers after leaving a restaurant without paying and ran through the streets, backing up traffic and causing a scene. Prior to arrest Mr. Matthews tripped an officer while in pursuit.

Cambridge Police responded to Rindge Avenue for a report of a missing person. The missing person was later located at a Cambridge hospital. He had gone for a walk and fallen, and been taken to the hospital by a Good Samaritan.
