Officers responded to a Cambridge address to document a larceny report. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting person who stated between 06/04/2018 at approximately 5 p.m. and 6/20/2018 at 10 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a woman’s mountain bicycle from the side of her residence.

Cambridge Police observed a male riding a bicycle on Bishop Allen Drive. The male proceeded through the intersection of Bishop Allen Drive and Columbia Street (both public ways) without stopping at the stop sign/flashing red light. The male increased his rate of speed once he noticed the unmarked police cruiser nearby. He then rode through a red light at Harvard Street and Windsor Street without stopping. Officers activated the lights and sirens in the unmarked police cruiser and attempted to stop the male on Windsor Street. The male looked back at officers, laughed, and then rode his bicycle the wrong way down Market Street, at which point officers lost sight of him. Approximately 15 minutes later, officers observed the male suspect walking at the corner of School Street and Windsor Street. The male then hid in a nearby garage. The garage owner flagged officers down and pointed out the suspect, who was placed into custody. Officers discovered that the suspect had an arrest warrant out of District Court for Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing and Threat to Commit a Crime. Lens Altidor, 18, 56 Cherry Street in Cambridge, was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses: Bicycle Violation Refuse to Identify and Bicycle Violation.

Cambridge Police responded to the area of the Massachusetts Avenue for a report of an unwanted male at a restaurant. Upon arrival, the man left one restaurant and entered another. Officers entered the restaurant after him. After a brief conversation with the male party, he was asked to leave. He refused and after several more attempts to have the male leave on his own, officers attempted to escort the male off the premises. The male continued to verbally resist and became physically resistant toward the officers’ attempts to remove him. Ultimately the male was forcefully removed and placed under arrest for trespassing and disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The male offender had no identification and refused to cooperate with officers throughout the booking process. It was ultimately determined the man was Brian Merchant, 52, 425 Broadway in Cambridge.

Cambridge Police responded to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue at Church Street for an assault in progress report. The victim of the assault reported while standing outside a shelter, waiting for a bed, he was approached by a black male with dreads, wearing glasses, who stood approximately 6 feet tall wearing all black clothing, with a red bandana. He further stated that the described black male punched him in the face, took his blue suitcase, which contained his birth certificate, various clothing items, watch, necklace and black bag. The victim requested to be checked out at the hospital, where he was later transported by Pro Ambulance. A search of the immediate area for the suspects was met with negative results.
