BICYCLE VIOLATION REFUSE TO IDENTIFY C85 S11C

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

At approximately 12:08 a.m., officers observed a male on a bicycle traveling the wrong way down Essex Street, which is a one-way street, and then riding on the Massachusetts Avenue sidewalk. When officers stopped the cyclist for these violations, he could not produce identification, gave two different names, and refused to remove his hands from his pockets. The cyclist began to run from officers when they attempted to place him in handcuffs. The cyclist, who was identified as Stanley Mondesir, 21, 21 Talbot Avenue 2, Boston, was placed under arrest for Bicycle Violation, Bicycle Violation Refuse to Identify, and Resisting Arrest.

A resident of Franklin Street reported that their vehicle had been broken into between 10:30 p.m. August 6 and 7:00 a.m. August 7. A car emergency kit was stolen from the trunk. The victim stated their vehicle has been broken into often and they believe they are being targeted.

Officers responded to Cambridge Street and Windsor Street for a report that a driver had been punched in the face by another driver following an incident of road rage. Neither party required medical attention.

A bicyclist reported being struck by a rideshare vehicle while in the bike lane in Harvard Square around 9:30 a.m. The cyclist suffered scrapes and was transported to the hospital. The operator of the vehicle reportedly gave the victim $20 then left the scene.

A White Street business reported that a shoplifter had stolen $252 worth of vitamins at approximately 11:38 a.m. before fleeing into the Porter Square T station. The suspect is described as a white man, 5’8”, brown hair, small goatee, wearing a white Polo-style collared shirt, shorts, and a large backpack.

A Broadway business reported a larceny of the contents of their tip jar at approximately 7:48 p.m. August 6. The suspect is a black female who is believed to be in her teens to mid-twenties, wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and carrying a red bag.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded for a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles. At a red light at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Upland Road, a driver let off their brake because they believed the light had turned green. Their vehicle rolled forward and struck the vehicle ahead of them, which in turn moved forward and struck the next vehicle ahead. One vehicle suffered minor damage, and one of the operators complained of neck pain. None of the parties required transportation to the hospital.

SEX OFFENDER FAIL TO REGISTER C601/01/

CAMBRIDGESIDE PLACE

Laquan Holland, 32, 175 O’Reilly Way, Charlestown, was placed under arrest for Shoplifting by Means of Concealment, Assault and Battery, and Failure to Register Sex Offender. Holland was located after stealing merchandise valued at $782 from a Cambridgeside Place business and fleeing the scene. When stopped by a loss prevention officer, Holland pushed the officer. It was also discovered that Holland had failed to register as a sex offender.

Officers responded for a report of a male operating a motor vehicle and waving a firearm in the air on Cambridge Street near Columbia. A suspect was stopped and identified. It was determined that what appeared to be a firearm was actually a BB gun, which the suspect voluntarily surrendered to officers after realizing the potentially hazardous situation that had been created.

BROOKLINE STREET

Officers responded to a Brookline Street residence for a larceny of a bicycle. The reporting party’s black Fuji “city bike” was stolen while they were on a trip from approximately 8:00 p.m. July 26 to the evening of August 6. The bicycle was locked to a rear porch area. An unknown suspect broke a wooden post on the porch in order to remove the bicycle.
