08/12/2018 01:16 INCIDENT 18005599 LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED, OP MV WITH C90 S23	ESSEX STREET A resident of Watertown was summonsed to court for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug, Operating a Motor Vehicle with License Revoked, and Harsh/Objectionable Noise. Officers assigned to the Area Four Gun Violence Task Force observed the defendant driving a moped that was creating excessive noise in Central Square. After stopping the defendant, officers discovered that his license had been revoked and found nearly twenty-five grams of marijuana in his backpack individually packaged and labelled.

08/12/2018 02:11 INCIDENT 18005603 LARCENY FROM PERSON c266 S25	GREEN STREET Officers responded to a Green Street garage for a larceny of a wallet. A resident of Lynn unlocked their vehicle to enter it, at which point an unknown male suspect made it into the passenger side of the vehicle. The victim’s friend who was also in the garage honked their horn and scared the suspect off. He fled with the victim’s wallet.
08/12/2018 05:12 INCIDENT 18005605 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE Officers responded to a Massachusetts Avenue business to speak to an individual reporting a larceny. The victim had been sleeping on a bench and had woken to find their bags missing.
08/12/2018 10:48 INCIDENT 18005607 B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16	BANKS STREET Two residents of Banks Street reported a breaking and entering to their residence. A computer bag containing a Macbook, identification documents, credit cards, and cash was stolen from the victims’ front entryway sometime after 1:30 a.m.
08/12/2018 11:43 INCIDENT 18005606 B&E MV / BOAT NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY C266 S16	FROST STREET A Waltham resident reported that their motor vehicle had been broken into between 9:00 p.m. August 11 and 9:00 a.m. August 12. The driver’s side window of the vehicle had been smashed and a bag of tools valued at approximately $500 was stolen.
08/12/2018 12:05 INCIDENT 18005608 LARCENY FROM BUILDING c266 S20	ALEWIFE BROOK PARKWAY Christopher Desmarteau, 38, 17 Court Street, Boston, was placed under arrest for Larceny From Building after a witness identified him as the individual they’d observed stealing from a purse in a church. Desmarteau had additional warrants out for his arrest from Barnstable District Court (Larceny From Building, Malicious Destruction of Property Under $1200, Breaking and Entering Nighttime for Felony, Vandalizing Property) and Holyoke District Court (Assault and Battery, Strangulation or Suffocation).
08/12/2018 12:59 INCIDENT 18005610 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE c90 S24	PROSPECT STREET A resident of Cambridge reported being the victim of a hit and run crash involving property damage at Hampshire Street and Prospect Street. The victim was side-swiped by a green Subaru while driving and their vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side.
08/12/2018 13:40 INCIDENT 18005609 THREAT TO COMMIT CRIME c275 S2	BROADWAY A Brockton resident was threatened by the driver of a Somerville taxi while working at a business on Broadway.
08/12/2018 15:21 INCIDENT 18005615 LARCENY FROM BUILDING c266 S20	OXFORD AVENUE A resident of Oxford Avenue reported their bicycle stolen from the hallway outside their apartment door. The building has secured entrances and can only be accessed by residents or guests. The bicycle was stolen between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and is described as a black Ghost Hybrid bicycle with a white seat, straight handlebars, and the word “Ghost” in white lettering across the frame.
08/12/2018 16:19 INCIDENT 18005614 FIREARM WITHIN 500 FT OF DWELLING c131 S58	LAWN STREET At 4:20 p.m., Cambridge Police Department received calls for possible gunshots in the area of May Street at Lawn Street. Officers responded to the area, but were not able to identify any evidence and later cleared the area.
08/12/2018 17:55 INCIDENT 18005617 SHOPLIFTING BY CONCEALING MDSE c266 S30A	CAMBRIDGESIDE PLACE Two males were observed shoplifting from multiple businesses on Cambridgeside Place. William Baire, 30, 18 Chafter Street, Dorchester, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Class B Drug after suspected crack cocaine was found on his person. Brian Belanger, 39, 513 Washington Street 2, Dorchester, was placed under arrest for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise. Belanger also had two warrants for his arrest in Massachusetts and one out of New Hampshire. He was additionally charged with Fugitive From Justice on Court Warrant.
08/12/2018 18:09 INCIDENT 18005616 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	FAYETTE STREET A Fayette Street resident reported leaving their purse on their front porch at approximately 5:55 p.m. while taking out the trash. When they returned two minutes later it was gone.
08/12/2018 18:37 INCIDENT 18005618 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY -$1200, MALICIOUS C266 S12	ESSEX STREET A construction worker at a site on Essex Street reported that the driver’s side window of their vehicle was smashed by a brick between 1:00 and 6:30 p.m. Nothing appears to be missing at this time.
08/12/2018 19:10 INCIDENT 18005620 TRAFFIC INVESTIGATIONS	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE A motor vehicle crash was reported involving minor injuries. A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Cedar Street.
08/12/2018 19:28 INCIDENT 18005621 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	PUTNAM GARDENS A package theft was reported on Putnam Gardens.
08/12/2018 20:37 ARREST 18005622	ALBANY STREET Jeannette Holland, 30, 240 Albany Street, was placed under arrest on a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Assault and Battery on a Public Employee.
08/12/2018 22:19 INCIDENT 18005623 WARRANT ARREST REPORT	PEARL STREET Officers assigned to the Area Four Gun Violence Task Force observed an individual engaged in activity consistent with drug usage on Pearl Street. When officers stopped this individual, they discovered that he had a warrant out of Boston District Court for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. Brandon Berry, 32, 39 Boylston Street, Boston, was also charged with Possession of a Class B Drug after a search of his person revealed six grams of suspected crack cocaine.

08/11/2018 00:21 ARREST 18005566 WARRANT ARREST REPORT	ESSEX STREET Officers assigned to the Area Four Gun Violence Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle with excessively dark window tint in Central Square. The operator of the vehicle, Kiara Gomes, 25, 110 Harvard Street 7, was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Somerville District Court for Permitting Unlicensed/Suspended Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended.
08/11/2018 03:13 INCIDENT 18005568 OUI-LIQUOR C90 S24	ELIOT STREET John Madden, 36, 27 Gorham Street 2, Waltham, was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol. Madden was stopped after a witness reported that Madden was traveling the wrong way down Brattle Street and almost hit their motor vehicle.
08/11/2018 07:31 INCIDENT 18005572 LARCENY OVER $1200 C266 S30	BINNEY STREET A worker at a construction site on Binney Street reported that an unknown individual had stolen $4000 worth of materials from the site. The site was entered between 3:30 p.m. August 10 and 6:30 a.m. August 11. A similar incident was reported August 10.
08/11/2018 07:32 INCIDENT 18005571 IDENTITY FRAUD	PORTER ROAD A Cambridge resident reported being the victim of identity theft. They received a credit warning from one of their credit cards that someone had used their information to open several accounts. Because this has previously happened to the victim, they have been “flagged” by credit services.
08/11/2018 08:19 INCIDENT 18005573 A&B c265 S13A	FRESH POND PARKWAY A Belmont resident reported being slapped on the arm by an unknown male while walking around Fresh Pond. The suspect was a slightly heavyset white male, approximately 60 years old, blonde thinning hair, wearing dark or black shorts and no shirt.
08/11/2018 08:47 INCIDENT 18005575 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE c90 S24	GIBSON STREET Officers responded to Gibson Street for a hit and run involving damage to a parked motor vehicle. The driver’s side door and rear view mirror sustained heavy damage. The vehicle was struck between 3:00 p.m. August 10 and 7:25 a.m. August 11.
08/11/2018 08:50 INCIDENT 18005574 B&E MV / BOAT NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY C266 S16	WARREN STREET A resident of Warren Street reported a breaking and entering to their friend’s vehicle while it was parked on Watson Street between 12:00 p.m. August 6 and 4:00 p.m. August 10. The items stolen are valued at approximately $300.
08/11/2018 09:20 INCIDENT 18005577 B&E MV / BOAT NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY C266 S16	BINNEY STREET A foreman to a plumbing and heating company called to report that two of their company’s vehicles were broken into between approximately 5:00 and 9:30 a.m. The vehicles were parked on Fifth Street and access was gained by smashing side windows. Power tools worth $600 were stolen.
08/11/2018 09:49 INCIDENT 18005576 B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16	BINNEY STREET An employee of a construction company reported that their company’s vehicle was broken into between 5:45 and 9:30 a.m. The side window had been smashed in while the vehicle was parked on Fifth Street. Power tools worth $500 were stolen.
08/11/2018 10:18 INCIDENT 18005578 SHOPLIFTING BY ASPORTATION c266 S30A	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE A Central Square business reported a shoplifting that occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. A Hispanic male in a maroon hat with a white “H” on the hat was observed on surveillance video removing an electronic device from the store and entering the inbound MBTA Central station before loss prevention officers could detain him.
08/11/2018 11:25 INCIDENT 18005579 B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE A Massachusetts Avenue business was broken into and ransacked between 1:00 p.m. August 10 and 11:20 a.m. August 11. Equipment and materials in the store were damaged. It is unknown if anything was missing at this time.
08/11/2018 14:05 INCIDENT 18005582 SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE / EOD INVESTIGATION	ALEWIFE BROOK PARKWAY A passerby alerted officers to two unattended bags on the steps of a business on Alewife Brook Parkway. The bags were cleared by the Explosive Ordnance Unit with the help of K9s.
08/11/2018 14:14 INCIDENT 18005583 LARCENY OVER $1200 BY SINGLE SCHEME c266 S30(1)	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE A resident of Massachusetts Avenue reported their real estate agent had cashed their check for their new apartment and deposited the money in her personal account on July 30.
08/11/2018 16:15 INCIDENT 18005585 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	MAIN STREET A resident of Lexington reported that their bicycle was stolen while unsecured on Main Street between approximately 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. The bicycle is described as a Day Glo green racing bike.
08/11/2018 16:21 INCIDENT 18005587 MISC. REPORT TYPE	MOUNT VERNON STREET Officers responded to Mount Vernon Street for a car alarm noise complaint. The owner of the vehicle could not be reached, so the vehicle was cited and towed.
08/11/2018 16:45 INCIDENT 18005586 WARRANT ARREST REPORT	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE After two individuals were observed engaging in suspicious behavior in Central Square, it was discovered that one of the parties had active warrants for their arrest. Derek McCarthy, 33, homeless, was placed under arrest for warrants out of Barnstable and South Boston District Courts.
08/11/2018 16:51 INCIDENT 18005588 MISC. REPORT TYPE	WHITE STREET Officers responded to White Street for a possible shoplifting. The suspect was trespassed from the store.
08/11/2018 18:43 INCIDENT 18005591 MISC. REPORT TYPE	LINNAEAN STREET A resident of Cambridge was walking their dog on a leash in Harvard Square when a large dog belonging to a homeless individual began to chase the victim’s dog. The victim’s dog ran from the other dog and pulled them down, causing them to bump their head and scrape their hand. The victim did not require medical attention but was concerned about the large dog’s behavior.
08/11/2018 19:13 INCIDENT 18005594 TRAFFIC INVESTIGATIONS	INMAN PLACE Officers responded to Inman Place for reports of an ongoing car alarm. When the owner could not be contacted, the vehicle was cited and towed due to excessive noise.
08/11/2018 20:34 INCIDENT 18005595 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE c90 S24	MAGNOLIA AVENUE Officers responded to Magnolia Avenue for a report of a hit and run with property damage. A parked motorcycle was struck and damaged at approximately 8:00 a.m. August 10.

08/10/2018 03:30 INCIDENT 18005543 ROBBERY, ARMED & MASKED c265 S17	RIVER STREET A resident of Cambridge reported being tossed to the ground while walking home, struck with a baseball bat, and having their cell phone stolen by two unknown male suspects, at least one of whom was masked.
08/10/2018 05:23 INCIDENT 18005544 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY +$1200, MALICIOUS C266 S12	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE Officers responded to a Massachusetts Avenue business after it was discovered that a brick had been thrown through the window. The store’s security camera recorded a male suspect breaking the window at 3:56 a.m., stealing merchandise, and exiting.
08/10/2018 07:53 INCIDENT 18005545 B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16	BINNEY STREET The project superintendent for a construction site on Binney Street reported that the site was broken into between 3:30 p.m. August 9 and 5:30 a.m. August 10. Approximately $7500 worth of supplies were stolen.
08/10/2018 09:09 INCIDENT 18005546 MISC. REPORT TYPE	MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE A resident of Somerville was jogging on Massachusetts Avenue when a small dog jumped up on them and tore their shirt. The woman holding the dog’s leash was initially apologetic, offering to pay for the shirt. After speaking to her female friend in Portuguese, she then denied that her dog ever jumped on the jogger. The dog proceeded to try to jump on some small children nearby, scaring them. The two women were joined by two men from a nearby building and the group left in a vehicle.
08/10/2018 10:00 INCIDENT 18005547 B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16	JAY STREET Officers responded to Jay Street for a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle between 7:30 p.m. August 9 and 7:30 a.m. August 10. A backpack was stolen from the vehicle and later located. It is unknown if any items were missing.
08/10/2018 10:15 INCIDENT 18005548 ROBBERY, UNARMED c265 S19	VASSAR STREET Officers responded to the MIT Police station for a report of an unarmed robbery that occurred around 7:40 a.m. While walking on Massachusetts Avenue, the victim passed a suspect who called them a racial slur, then grabbed them and demanded money. There was a small scuffle for the victim’s phone and the suspect ultimately fled with the victim’s debit card and driver’s license.

08/10/2018 12:49 INCIDENT 18005550 LARCENY OVER $250 BY FALSE PRETENSE c266 S34	EAST KENDALL STREET A representative of a Kendall Square business reported a former employee had used company travel expense cards to purchase goods and services worth over $31,000. The employee resigned after being confronted over the theft and the employer has since been unable to contact him.
08/10/2018 12:56 INCIDENT 18005552 LARCENY FROM BUILDING c266 S20	PEARL STREET Officers responded to Pearl Street for a larceny report. Approximately $40-$50 in cash was stolen.
08/10/2018 13:31 INCIDENT 18005556 B&E MV IN DAYTIME OR NIGHTTIME FOR MISDEMEANOR C26	BERKELEY STREET Officers responded for a report of a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle parked in a residence driveway. The vehicle, which was unlocked, was entered between 5:30 p.m. August 8 and 7:30 a.m. August 9. Several items were stolen from the vehicle. The suspect left a pair of sunglasses in the vehicle, which were submitted into evidence.
08/10/2018 14:54 INCIDENT 18005555 SHOPLIFTING BY ASPORTATION c266 S30A	CAMBRIDGESIDE PLACE Frank Cruthird, 52, 391 Salem Street, Rockland, was placed under arrest for Shoplifting by Asportation after walking out of a Cambridgeside Place business in jeans and a watch he had not paid for. He was additionally charged with Obstruction of Justice for repeatedly providing false names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers while officers were attempting to identify him. Once an accurate identification was made, it was discovered that Cruthird had outstanding warrants from Brockton and Taunton District Courts for Breaking and Entering Building Nighttime for Felony, Larceny Over $1200, and Larceny From Building.

08/10/2018 16:49 INCIDENT 18005558 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	KINNAIRD STREET A Cambridge resident reported that the front wheel of their friend’s bicycle had been stolen while the owner was on vacation. The reporting party believes the wheel was stolen between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. August 9 on Kinnaird Street.
08/10/2018 19:42 INCIDENT 18005561 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	ANDREW STREET Officers responded to Andrew Street for a report of a stolen bicycle. The bicycle, which is described as a Manhattan model with a black frame, small basket on front, and brown leather seat and handles, was removed from the owner’s back yard between 1:00 p.m. August 9 and 12:00 p.m. August 10.
08/10/2018 20:19 INCIDENT 18005562 LARCENY FROM BUILDING c266 S20	MOUNT AUBURN STREET Officers responded to a Mount Auburn Street business for a report of an employee removing cash from the register. The employee, a resident of Waltham, is being summonsed to court for Larceny From a Building.
08/10/2018 20:26 INCIDENT 18005563 B&E MV IN DAYTIME OR NIGHTTIME FOR MISDEMEANOR C26	MARTIN STREET While visiting a friend on Martin Street, a resident of Marblehead observed an unknown male suspect rummaging through their friend’s car parked in front of the residence. The suspect walked away when confronted. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle, but items inside were moved. The owner of the vehicle stated that the doors had been left unlocked prior to the incident.
08/10/2018 21:06 ARREST 18005564 WARRANT ARREST REPORT	BROADWAY Richard Marrero, 57, 94 Esmond Street 3, Dorchester, was placed under arrest on a warrant out of Roxbury District Court after being stopped on Galileo Galilei Way for a civil motor vehicle infraction.
08/10/2018 21:46 INCIDENT 18005565 LARCENY UNDER $1200 c266 S30(1)	HOLLIS STREET A Hollis Street resident reported their bicycle stolen from their rear porch between 2:30 and 6:00 p.m. The bicycle is described as an orange Cannondale M400 with a sticker that reads “Ski the East.”
