MAIN STREET
Jean Almodovar, 23, 23 Graves Road, Revere, was placed under arrest for
Possession of a Firearm without a License, Possession with Intent to
Distribute a Class D Drug, and Resisting Arrest. Officers, including members
of the Port Gun Violence Task Force, responded at approximately 2:10 a.m. for
multiple reports of gunshots in the area of Clement Morgan Park. Responding officers
had observed Almodovar carrying a backpack in close proximity to two separate
calls for gunshots. When he was apprehended nearby, he was no longer in
possession of the backpack; it was recovered from a yard in the vicinity and
found to contain a firearm, which Almodovar was not licensed to carry. Officers
located a large quantity of marijuana in Almodovar’s backpack, as well as a digital
scale and small baggies of the type commonly used to package marijuana for
street-level distribution. Two cell phones and $526 in cash were found on
Almodovar’s person. An officer sustained a non-life-threatening injury when
Almodovar pushed him to the ground during the arrest and was transported to a
Boston hospital via ambulance.
