Officers responded for a hit and run motor vehicle crash. A dark colored SUV, similar in shape to a Subaru Forester, was observed crashing into the front porch of a home on Upland Road and leaving the scene.

CHURCH STREET

Ricardo Restrepo, 49, 99 Homer Street, East Boston, was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Liquor after driving his vehicle up onto the sidewalk at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Church Street and striking a pole and cement pillar. Restrepo admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the crash.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

A homeless male from Boston was identified as a shoplifting suspect from a business in Central Square. The suspect was observed by store employees removing his pants on the sales floor and putting on new underwear that he took off the store shelf. He additionally took a few more pairs of underwear and an employee’s uniform jacket before leaving the store without paying. The suspect was trespassed from the store and the store’s loss prevention officer will seek shoplifting charges internally.

PROSPECT STREET

Officers responded to Prospect Street for a report of a fight. The two victims stated that an unknown suspect suddenly began assaulting both of them. The suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties wearing all black, may have been causing disturbances earlier in the day in Central Square. One victim sustained minor injuries and was cleared on the scene, while the other was uninjured.

A resident of Bristol Street discovered two packages on the front steps of their home ripped open with some of the contents missing. The packages were delivered at 12:15 and 12:18 p.m. and found by the owner at approximately 5:15 p.m. A report was taken.

Officers responded to Cambridge Street for a report of an injured tree. The owner of the tree stated that their neighbor had intentionally damaged it after ongoing conflict regarding the tree. A report was taken and the reporting party was advised that it was a matter for civil court.

Judith Collins, 26, 27 Strathmore Road 27, Brighton, was taken into custody for warrants issued out of Cambridge and Chelsea District Courts. The charges include Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise, Shoplifting by Asportation, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1200, Assault and Battery With a Dangerous Weapon, Resisting Arrest, and Disturbing the Peace.

SIDNEY STREET

Members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responded to Sidney Street for a report of an unattended suitcase in the park. The suitcase was cleared with the help of a K9, determined to be empty, and disposed of.
