Romel Abraham, 56, 820 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery and Disorderly Conduct after it was reported that he had punched a victim in the face. Abraham continued to yell and act aggressively while officers attempted to investigate what had occurred.

Jaavon Rodriguez, 24, homeless, was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery on a Person Over 60, Assault and Battery With a Dangerous Weapon, Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1200, and Armed Assault to Murder. Rodriguez instigated a disturbance in which he punched a bystander with a closed fist, pushed a person over the age of 60 to the ground, and kicked this victim while on the ground. Rodriguez was restrained by several witnesses, one of whom observed him reach into his pocket and pull out a folding knife. This knife was taken away and secured by the witness, who turned it over to officers after their arrival.

Cambridge Police, Animal Control, and Fire/EMS responded to a Russell Street residence for a report of a dog bite. The victim’s dog had gotten into a fight with a neighbor’s dog, and when the victim attempted to separate them, she was bitten by the neighbor’s dog. The neighbor was able to secure her dog back into her residence and remained on scene. The victim, whose arm was bleeding from several visible injuries, did not require transportation to the hospital via ambulance but stated that she would seek medical attention on her own.

A loss prevention officer at a department store reported a shoplifting incident. A female suspect who had stolen from the store multiple times in the past returned and shoplifted again. When the reporting party confronted the suspect, she punched him in the face to avoid apprehension and fled into a waiting vehicle.
