Nothing has been reported stolen at this time.

After receiving a call about a suspicious male pulling on vehicle door handles, officers responded and located a suspect matching the description given. The suspect was observed pulling the door handles on two separate cars before entering a third vehicle. Officers intervened and placed John Chute, 38, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, under arrest for Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle in Daytime for Felony and Attempt to Commit Crime. Items stolen from a nearby vehicle were located on Chute’s person.

Officers patrolling in Harvard Square were flagged down by a resident of Wayland, who reported that his backpack had been stolen from an outside table in front of a Massachusetts Avenue restaurant. The reporting party stated that he may have been away from the table momentarily when the backpack was removed at approximately 10:45 p.m.
