Officers responded to an Acorn Street residence for a report of a breaking and entering that occurred between 11:00 p.m. on October 20 and 6:00 a.m. on October 21. It was discovered that an unknown suspect had gained access to the residence through an unlocked window and stolen a Macbook laptop from a table near the window.

A resident of Quincy reported a breaking and entering to his vehicle that occurred between 3:00 and 8:00 a.m. on October 21. A large chunk of concrete that was left inside the vehicle appeared to have been used to break the window. A black North Face backpack containing glasses, a checkbook, and other personal items was stolen.

Officers responded to Ellsworth Avenue to assist the Fire Department with a dumpster that was obstructing the lane of travel. Upon arrival, a vehicle with hit and run damage was discovered. A witness stated that she had seen a truck attempt to travel down Ellsworth Avenue and become stuck due to the dumpster in the road. The witness believed the truck made contact with the damaged vehicle while backing out of Ellsworth Avenue at this time.

Russell Giacchetto, 51, 74 Thorndike Street in Cambridge, was placed under arrest on a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The charge stems from an incident on October 19 in which Giacchetto allegedly stabbed a man twice during an argument.

Officers responded to a Harvard Street address for a report of a male suspect attempting to break into the residence. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect beating the door with a broken fence post and threatening the residents inside with bodily harm if they did not open the door. Gregory Holloway, 57, 9 Boardman Street in Cambridge, was placed under arrest for Malicious Destruction of Property Under $1200 and Attempted Armed Burglary. The door to the residence sustained significant damage.

The victim was transported to the hospital via ambulance for non-life-threatening lacerations to his hand and thigh.
