FOREST STREET

Officers responded to a Forest Street residence for a report of a stolen bicycle. The bicycle was stolen while locked to a bike rack outside the apartment building between 9:00 p.m. on October 19 and 2:00 p.m. on October 21.

BROADWAY

Officers responded to a Broadway business for an alarm. The glass in the front door was shattered, possibly by a large piece of concrete nearby, but still intact. The building remained secure and the owner was notified of the damage.

CARRY LOADED FIREARM WITHOUT LICENSE C269 S10 A N

FRANKLIN STREET

Officers responded to the area of Franklin and Pearl Streets for a report of an unattended motor vehicle with the driver’s side door open and the window rolled down. A large amount of cash and a plastic bag containing a substance consistent with cocaine were visible in plain view inside the vehicle. Officers opened the glove box in search of owner information and discovered a loaded firearm and ammunition. Steca Thelemaque, 28, 26 North Street in Medford, exited a nearby building while officers were searching the vehicle and identified himself as the owner, which was confirmed by paperwork found in the vehicle. Thelemaque stated he did not have an LTC and was placed under arrest for Carrying Loaded Firearm Without License. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Class B Drug and Failure to Secure Firearms.

A resident of Belmont reported a breaking and entering to his vehicle that occurred while it was parked on Humboldt Street overnight. The contents were strewn about and some change was missing from the console, but the reporting party was unsure if anything else had been taken. The vehicle was unlocked at the time and no force was used to enter.

A resident of Randolph reported that her vehicle was rear-ended while she was stopped at a traffic signal on Massachusetts Avenue at Peabody Street. The suspect driver fled the scene without sharing his information. No injuries were reported.

A resident of Everett reported a pair of wireless Beats headphones stolen from his person while in the area of Cambridgeside Place. An unknown male suspect snatched the headphones from the reporting party’s waistband and fled.

An elderly resident of Kirkland Street reported being the victim of an attempted phone scam. The reporting party received a phone call from a male suspect claiming to be an attorney representing the reporting party’s grandson. The suspect told the reporting party to purchase gift cards and forward them as payment. The reporting party’s family and caretaker found this suspicious and were able to verify that the call was not legitimate. No funds were lost or exchanged.

DAVENPORT STREET

Officers responded for a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Davenport Street. A taxi was rear-ended by another vehicle, causing the taxi to bump into a pedestrian in the crosswalk in front of it. The pedestrian left the area before officers arrived. Both involved drivers were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver who rear-ended the taxi was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to Right of Way.

A Cambridgeside Place business reported a shoplifting of a pair of Beats headphones. When the store’s loss prevention officer followed the suspect outside to retrieve the merchandise, the suspect pulled out a knife. The loss prevention officer then returned to the store and called for police assistance. The suspect is described as a black male in his thirties wearing a red baseball hat, red sneakers, and jeans.

Officers responded to a Linnaean Street residence for a breaking and entering to a vehicle that occurred between 6:00 p.m. on October 21 and 3:10 p.m. on October 22. The driver’s door was left ajar and personal papers and loose change were stolen. The vehicle was parked on Hurlbut Street and the reporting party believes it was locked at the time.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Cambridge Police, Fire, and EMS units responded to Central Square for a report of a crash involving a motor vehicle and a scooter. The driver of the vehicle made a sudden U-turn and struck the scooter, causing minor injuries to the driver of the scooter and rendering the scooter inoperable. The vehicle driver was issued a citation for Improper Turn. None of the involved parties required transportation to the hospital.

A resident of Western Avenue reported a breaking and entering to his home that occurred between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m. A laptop bag containing nothing of value was stolen. The reporting party discovered the bag discarded in a park nearby later in the day.
