MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Thomas McSorley, 33, 444 Harrison Avenue in Boston, was placed under arrest at a business in Central Square for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise and Trespassing due to the fact that he had previously been trespassed from the store’s premises. McSorley was additionally found to have several warrants, including Lewd, Wanton & Lascivious Conduct (United States District Court in Boston); Inhaling Glue/Toxic Substance, Disorderly Conduct, and Threat to Commit Crime (Cambridge District Court); and Shoplifting by Asportation (Attleboro District Court).

CANAL PARK

A resident of Saugus reported that his vehicle sustained hit and run damage while parked near a loading dock on Canal Park. Because deliveries are frequently made in the area, the reporting party believes the damage may have been caused by a delivery truck.

ALEWIFE BROOK PARKWAY

Officers responded to Rindge Avenue at Alewife Brook Parkway for a motor vehicle crash with minor injuries. A vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with the rear end of another vehicle that had stopped suddenly at a traffic light. One driver received a citation for Failure to Stop at a Red Light and the other was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle With Registration Expired. Both vehicles were towed.

WHITE STREET

Officers responded to a White Street business for a report of ongoing theft by an employee. The store’s loss prevention officer stated his intention to press charges once he has compiled the relevant information on the larcenies.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue for a report of a possible stolen vehicle. The reporting party stated that he parked his vehicle around 8:00 p.m. on October 18 and has been unable to locate it since.

BROOKLINE STREET

Officers responded to a Brookline Street residence for a report of a breaking and entering that occurred over the weekend, possibly around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. on October 28. One of the rear doors to the residence was broken. The only item that has been reported missing at this time is a comforter taken from a closet. Several items that appear to have been left behind by the suspect have been submitted to the Property/Evidence Unit.

BISHOP ALLEN DRIVE

A resident of Westborough reported that her wallet was lost or stolen at a Bishop Allen Drive establishment between 10:00 p.m. on October 27 and 1:00 a.m. the next day. The reporting party’s debit card has since been used at several Cambridge stores.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY -$1200, MALICIOUS C266 S12

ANTRIM STREET

Two residents of Antrim Street reported an incident of malicious destruction of property that occurred on the night of October 22. A pumpkin was taken from the reporting parties’ porch and smashed on the street. The reporting parties’ neighbors’ pumpkin, which was placed on the same porch, was left untouched. The reporting parties felt that the vandalism may have been related to signage displayed at their residence and wanted CPD to be aware of this in case of related incidents.

TRAFFIC INVESTIGATIONS

BROADWAY

Officers responded to the intersection of Broadway and Ellery Street in regards to a motor vehicle crash with minor injuries. One vehicle stopped for a pedestrian in the crosswalk and was rear-ended by a driver who did not see the pedestrian ahead and was unable to stop in time. The driver of one vehicle and a passenger of the other complained of whiplash and were evaluated on scene by ambulance personnel.
