Cambridge Police are currently in the area of Thorndike Street and Sciarappa Street for an active barricade situation. Officers initially responded to the area after 6 p.m. following reports of a stabbing. A male victim had fled a residence after suffering what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries following the stabbing. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Once officers quickly arrived on-scene, they learned that the male suspect - who remains inside the residence - may have access to a firearm. Out of abundance of caution, police have closed the streets in the immediate area. Negotiators and tactical officers are on scene. Residents are asked to avoid the immediate area as officers attempt to communicate with the suspect and peacefully deescalate and resolve the situation.
