Officers responded to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Douglass Street for a reported assault in progress. A victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after an altercation with two male suspects who fled the scene prior to police arrival.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Officers responded to Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The reporting party was making deliveries in the area and had left the vehicle parked momentarily with the keys in the ignition and doors unlocked. As the reporting party exited a building he observed an unknown suspect driving his vehicle in the direction of Boston.

A security officer for a Cambridgepark Drive property reported an incident of malicious destruction to the property. Video surveillance footage captured an unknown suspect damaging and ripping the front property gate off of its fixture at approximately 10:10 p.m. on October 31.

A resident of Cambridge reported being the victim of identity fraud. An unknown suspect(s) was able to open a credit card in the reporting party’s name and make several thousand dollars’ worth of charges.

MAIN STREET

Cambridge Police and Fire units responded to the intersection of Main and Portland Streets after an unknown box truck struck and damaged an electrical control box and fled the scene. Traffic signals at the intersection were no longer operational due to loss of electrical power. No injuries were reported. The electrical provider responded for repairs.

INMAN STREET

Officers responded to the area of Inman and Harvard Streets for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, the victim, suspect, and a witness were all located on scene. Further investigation revealed that the suspect, without any provocation, physically assaulted a 66-year-old individual while repeatedly making anti-Semitic statements directed at the victim. The suspect reportedly pushed the victim against a wall and placed his fist against her throat. Jarrett Harris, 62, 47 Inman Street in Cambridge, was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery on a Person Over Sixty and Assault and Battery to Intimidate (Hate Crime). The victim denied medical attention.

SHEPARD STREET

Officers responded to Shepard Street for a larceny of a bicycle. The bicycle, which is described as a blue one-speed with orange and yellow handlebars, was stolen between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. while locked up in an alley behind Shepard Street.

A resident of Cambridge reported that his bicycle was stolen from outside a school on Vassal Lane between 5:40 p.m. on October 31 and 8:00 a.m. on November 1. The reporting party stated that he had forgotten to lock it up while picking up his children from school.
