MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at Massachusetts Avenue after a random query check on a vehicle in traffic revealed that the vehicle's registration number did not match any vehicle. The operator identified himself with his Social Security Number, which came back to Yamauris Sanchez, 22, 321 Lawrence Street in Lawrence, MA. Further investigation revealed that Sanchez was operating the vehicle with only a Massachusetts Identification Card and he was never issued a Massachusetts License. Upon searching for the VIN of the vehicle, officers had observed it to be removed from the front windshield, at which point Sanchez stated, "my friend who owns the vehicle took it off.” A further investigation revealed Sanchez knowingly used the vehicle without the authority of the registered owner. Due to these facts, officers placed Sanchez under arrest for unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, possession of a motor vehicle with a defaced VIN, and use of motor vehicle without authority.
