ESSEX ST

Cambridge Police were conducting traffic enforcement on Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square. Officers stopped a vehicle with a failed inspection sticker. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the operator's driver's license was suspended and he did not have the vehicle's registration in his possession. Robert Assarian, 48, 11 Macarthur Street, Somerville, MA, was placed under arrest and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failed inspection sticker, and registration not in possession. The passenger in the motor vehicle was not wearing his seatbelt. He was identified as Robert Messina, 47, 85 Medford Street 1 Malden MA, and was placed under arrest for an active straight warrant.

Cambridge Police responded to Broadway for a larceny report. Five unknown males entered a food establishment and stole some food from behind the counter.

An employee of management company reported a theft from one of their Cambridge offices. The employee stated that a temporary employee stole a number of money orders on the morning of 1/9/2019. The incident was captured by video surveillance.
