The Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Edward Scurio, 55, 820 Massachusetts Avenue, and charged him with Possession of a Class A Substance after he was observed engaging in a suspected street level drug transaction. Once stopped and searched, he was found to be in possession of one package containing suspected heroin.

Cambridge Police arrested one Santos Feliciano 53, of 6 Columbia Terrace, after he verbally accosted a group of 6 juveniles while brandishing a box cutter menacingly and advancing towards them. Feliciano is being charged with six counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Paul Walsh, 63, 1 Walker CT, was placed under arrest and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor after Cambridge Police responded to Hampshire Street in regards to a motor vehicle crash. A witness observed Walsh strike another car in the parking lot of an Inman Square establishment (where the public has access as invitees). The witness stated that the operator was slurring his words, staggering, and attempting to flee the scene of the crash. Police arrived on scene and observed the suspect in his car, attempting to back out of the parking lot. Walsh’s speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet, and there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Walsh performed poorly on the standardized field sobriety tests administered to him.

Cambridge Police responded the area of Cambridge Street for a report of a hit and run with property damage. Upon arriving on scene and making contact with the reporting party, it was determined that a motor vehicle crash had occurred and property damage was minimal. The reporting party was not injured and denied medical evaluation/treatment.

Cambridge Police was dispatched to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Beech Street for the report of a motorist asleep at the intersection. Officers made multiple attempts to awake the individual. When the operator woke up he began to drive and failed to stop for the officers. The operator then drove recklessly down Massachusetts Avenue almost running into a construction site and speeding. Officers were finally able to stop the vehicle at Massachusetts Avenue and Alewife Brook Parkway. The operator then failed a field sobriety test and after being mirandized admitted to driving under the influence. Connor Crosby, 21, of 52 Pine Tree Drive Methuen, Massachusetts, was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and failure to Stop for Police.

Cambridge Police responded to a Broadway business for a report of a disturbance. Upon arriving on scene, responding units observed a male, who was later identified as the victim, sitting on the ground with apparent injuries to his left leg. According to the victim, he was working as the clerk in a nearby business when two unidentified males entered the store, navigated their way behind the counter, took possession of various items, and fled the store. The victim attempted to stop the two suspects; a struggle ensued. As a result, he was thrown to the ground and injured. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.

Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for an uninsured motor vehicle found to be operated by a party without a valid driver's license. The motor vehicle was towed and a vehicle inventory was conducted pursuant to Cambridge Police Department policy. The operator of the motor vehicle was summonsed for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license.
