Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street for an improper turn violation. Upon further investigation it was found that the operator was unlicensed, he was summonsed to court for violation of Massachusetts General Law.

Glen R.Villareale, 28, of 39 Boylston Street in Boston was placed under arrest after he was observed walking out of a store on Cambridgside Place, without paying for the $429.25 worth of store merchandise he had hidden in his bag.

Cambridge Police arrested Richard Hughes, 32, homeless of Boston, for assault and battery on a person over 60 years of age. A security guard for a local establishment on Massachusetts Avenue called the police to report the crime. When officers arrived on scene witnesses verified the altercation and video surveillance confirmed that the assault occurred.

A Cambridge resident came to the police station to report that an unknown person(s) hacked into her phone and gained access to her bank account. The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to wire several thousand dollars from her account.

An older woman was standing in front of a business on Massachusetts Avenue when a man walking by struck her on the side of the face with a bag containing a glass bottle. The woman suffered a severe laceration and was brought to the hospital.

Cambridge Police arrested Cassandra Selmon, 57, homeless of Roxbury, for a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for two charges of shoplifting by concealing and trespassing.
