INCIDENT  19003776

WAVERLY ST
Cambridge Police arrested Mustapha Fofana, 64, 51 Speedwell Street in Dorchester, for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Drinking Alcohol from an Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, and Idling the Engine of a Stopped Motor Vehicle for more than 5 Minutes. While on routine patrol, officers observed Fofana's Toyota Corolla parked in a lot adjacent to Fort Washington Park with its headlights on. Fofana's car was the only passenger vehicle parked in the lot at this particular time of night. It was revealed that Fofana's MA Driver's License Status was suspended. Officers approached the motor vehicle to perform a well-being check on its occupants. Upon further inspection, officers found that the motor vehicle was in fact running. Officers then attempted to make contact with Fofana, who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel. Fofana was unresponsive to having a flashlight/strobe shined on his face. It was at this point that Officers observed multiple open alcohol containers in plain view within the passenger compartment of the car. Officers were eventually able to rouse Fofana by knocking on his driver's side window and shouting at him. Fofana provided officers with his Driver's License and ECC confirmed that it was in fact suspended.
