A Cambridge business owner reports that sometime between when his employee closed on July 14, 2019 at approximately 9 p.m. and when he arrived to open the store at 7 a.m. on July 15, 2019, an unknown suspect forced the front lock latch, entered the convenience store, and stole $1400 cash, 60-70 cartons of cigarettes valued at approximately $6,300, and an unknown amount of Mass Lottery tickets.

At 8:30 a.m. Cambridge Police were dispatched to Massachusetts Avenue for an unwanted person. As a result Brandon Quigley, 28, 67 Newbury Street in Boston, was placed under arrest for two arrest warrants from Boston District Court for Armed Robbery and Shoplifting, Larceny from a Person and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

The Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Donald Varnum, 63, 281 Shawmut Avenue in Boston, MA and charged him Possession of a Class B Substance - Crack Cocaine. Varnum was observed on the steps to a church on Magazine Street engaging in suspicious activity. Upon being approached by a detective, Varnum dropped a baggy of suspected crack cocaine to the ground.
