JFK ST
Michael Gaskill, 48, homeless was arrested in Harvard Square for failing to register as a sex offender. Gaskill was arrested after he was observed in Harvard Square and it was confirmed that Gaskill was in violation for failing to register as a sex offender on 7/18/2019.

RIVER ST
A Cambridge resident was summonsed to court for larceny over $1,200 after a review of surveillance video showed him take two cell phones off of a store counter, place them in his pocket and then exit the store. He was identified by store employees. The phones were valued at approximately $1,000 and $850.

A Cambridge City Hall employee reported an unknown person(s) stole his bicycle from the bike rack located on Massachusetts Avenue. The crime occurred sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. on 7/29/19.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to an Essex Street address to document a larceny report. The reporting person stated a former employee used the school administration account to purchase personal items between 2015 and 2019.

DUNSTER ST
At 2 p.m. there was a hit and run involving a white tour bus which had struck a car in the driver’s side front and left the area. This occurred in front of Dunster Street by the rear door of the garage for a retail shopping mall/building. The owner, driver, and tour guide were all told to have the bus return immediately and it had not done so after a considerable amount of time and was said to be bringing clients to the airport.

FRANKLIN ST

Cambridge Police responded to Franklin Street for a report of a breaking and entry in progress. During the course of the subsequent investigation officers spoke with Hector Rivas, 33, 237 Franklin Street, who had been in another apartment. It was then revealed that Rivas had two warrants, one out of Fall River District Court for operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License and one out of Boston District Court for Possession to Distribute a Class B Drug. Rivas was taken into custody for these warrants.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
At approx. 9:55 p.m., Cambridge Police observed a suspect enter a motor vehicle in the Central Square area which was confirmed to be reported stolen out of Brockton. The vehicle was followed through streets surrounding the Central Square area where the occupants of the motor vehicle abandoned the motor vehicle after a motor vehicle stop was attempted. As a result of an investigation following a foot pursuit of the stolen motor vehicle Devonte Richards, 21, 2 Putnam Gardens in Cambridge was located in the backyard of a private residence, which is surrounded by fence and closed gate. Richards was arrested and charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Trespassing.
