At approximately 7:29 a.m., Cambridge Police responded to a Massachusetts Avenue address to document a hit and run to a motor vehicle report. Upon arrival the reporting person stated that on 8/8/2019 at 8:00am, he parked his motor vehicle in front of a Massachusetts Avenue address. When the reporting person returned to his motor vehicle hours later, he discovered damage to his motor vehicle.

At 3:34 p.m., Cambridge Police issued a summons to a Saugus resident for permitting his uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle to remain on a public way. Officers observed his vehicle parked on State Street and a query of the vehicle's license plate showed that its registration was revoked for insurance.

A Cambridge Police Detective placed Brian McDonald, 42, 270 Quarry Street in Quincy under arrest for Attempt to Commit a Crime. They observed him cut the cable lock off of a bicycle that was secured to a bicycle rack in Central Square. The bicycle and lock were both the property of the Cambridge Police Department.

At 1:00 p.m., Christian Such, 29, 39 Boylston Street in Boston was arrested in Harvard Square for Disorderly Conduct, While in possession of a Dangerous Weapon ( Pepper Spray ), after becoming physically offensive and tumultuous in Harvard Square. Such is also being charged with Assault and Battery, on an ambulance personnel.

At 2:07 p.m., Cambridge Police Explosive Ordinance Unit responded for a call of an unattended bag located in the burial ground on Garden Street. Upon arrival the bag was cleared by Cambridge Police. The bag contained a large amount of cardboard nothing of value, and no identification as to who the owner was. The bag was disposed of in a dumpster to prevent further calls for the same item.

NEGLIGENT OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE c90 S24

JFK ST
Robert Dunn, 61, 288 Farm Drive in Burlington was arrested after officers observed him operating an expired motor vehicle in the wrong direction of a busy public way in Harvard Square. Dunn was stopped and performed standard field sobriety tests. Dunn showed multiple indicators of impairment including balance and the inability to follow directions. Medications Dunn admitted to consuming items not defined in the 94c category for OUI drugs. The charge of negligent operation was added to reflect his obvious impairment. An inventory search of Dunn’s motor vehicle yielded a glassine baggie of a white powdery substance later determine to be cocaine. Dunn will be charged with Possession of Class B, Negligent Operation, Expired Registration and Wrong Way Violation.

A Criminal Complaint was filed for a Belmont resident for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Unsafe Lane Change. He was observed taking a right turn from the left lane without signaling. During the motor vehicle stop, he produced valid Massachusetts Learner's Permit, but did not have a licensed operator occupy the passenger seat to the right.
