CAMBRIDGE ST
At approximately 2:05 a.m., Cambridge Police observed a blue Lexus parked on Moore Street near Harvard Street. The vehicle was running with its headlights on. The driver, a heavy set black male, was sleeping behind the wheel of the motor vehicle. Police were able to wake the driver up by knocking on the driver’s side window. The driver woke up, said he was OK and quickly drove off, making a left turn onto Harvard Street. Police began driving behind the Lexus and observed it make a left turn onto Portland Street. They continued traveling behind the vehicle and observed it going over the marked center lines several times. Upon following the vehicle onto Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, the vehicle was on the wrong side of the road, completely on the opposite side of the marked yellow center lines. As Officers approached Cambridge Street, the vehicle came to a stop, now on the correct side of the road. The vehicle remained stopped for approximately one minute, despite the fact that there was no traffic at the intersection. Based on police observations, a traffic stop was conducted for the multiple motor vehicle infractions witnessed. The driver exited the vehicle and agreed to do field sobriety tests. He was observed to have glassy / blood shot eyes, slurred speech and to be unsteady on his feet. He failed all three field sobriety tests to which he participated in. He said that he had been drinking alcohol on Landsdown Street in Boston earlier in the day. Jamie Knight, 42, 2 Jackson Gardens in Cambridge, was handcuffed and placed under arrest for OUI-Liquor and a Marked Lanes
