Cambridge Police documented a reported past assault and battery that occurred on Massachusetts Avenue. A suspect was identified and stopped.

WESTERN AVE
A Cambridge resident reported to the Cambridge Police that an unknown person(s) completely destroyed his planter, which was located outside of his front door.

UNLICENSED OPERATION OF MV c90 S10

CHURCHILL AVE
A Somerville resident was summonsed to court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on a public way, failure to stop at a red light, and no registration in possession. The resident was summonsed after she was observed operating her motor vehicle on Massachusetts Avenue, and during a red light made a right turn off of Massachusetts Avenue onto Churchill Avenue, where clearly posted no turn on red. She also did not come to a stop before making the right on red. Upon stopping her on Murray Hill Road it was discovered that she has never been issued a driver’s license in the United States and she did not have her Brazilian driver license in her possession. She also did not have her registration in her possession at the time of the traffic stop.

At approximately 11:05 a.m., a Cambridge resident reported between 08/19/2019 at 4 p.m. and 08/20/2019 at 8 a.m., an unknown suspect gained entry into her residence without her knowledge and or consent. The reporting person added that nothing was stolen but a glass window to her front door was smashed out.

A Cambridge resident reported to the Cambridge Police that while in the area of Auburn Street and River Street a black male, 5'6", bald, and wearing a blue shirt walked up to him and reached into his pockets and took $140. The money was later returned.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to an East Cambridge bicycle shop for a report of suspicious activity by a person attempting to sell them a bicycle. The bicycle was left at the shop and turned into police. A description of the individual was provided to police.

A Walden Square resident reported the theft of an inoperable electric scooter at approximately 5:00 p.m. The scooter had been removed from the rear of a Walden Square Road residence sometime on August 17, 2019.

At approximately 5:09 p.m., a homeless male was observed huffing from an aerosol can behind an Alewife Brook Parkway business. This male fell face first on the ground and was transported to Cambridge Hospital via Professional ambulance for treatment.

JEFFERSON ST
At approximately 5:51 p.m., Cambridge Police arrested John Pritchard, 56, 11 Garden Street in Cambridge, for one count each of: OUI Drugs, Alcohol From Open Container In Motor Vehicle. Pritchard was placed under arrest after Cambridge Police were dispatched to the area of Cambridge Street at Marion Street after a witness believed he observed an individual known to him that was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of Heroin on a public way. Further investigation revealed that Pritchard showed several signs of impairment and had two open containers of alcohol in his vehicle.
