MASSACHUSETTS AVE
At 2:53 a.m., Cambridge Police responded to a Central Square business for a report of an alarm sounding. One suspect was located inside the business. After an investigation, it was determined that the suspect had fallen asleep in the business prior to it closing and had woken up late in the night. No merchandise was found on the suspect’s person and an employee was unable to find any stolen/out of place merchandise at the time.

At 9:30 a.m., a Boston resident reported that while at the intersection of Broadway and Ames Street she was side-swiped by another vehicle as she rode her moped to work. The moped rider states that as she approached suspect operator to exchange insurance information operator 'gave her the finger' and drove away. The moped rider did not report any injuries.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., a Cambridge resident reported between 09/07/2019 and 09/10/2019, an unknown suspect stole his black single speed bicycle while it was locked to a bike rack at the corner of Cambridge Street and Roberts Road.

A Cambridge resident reported an unknown person did enter his unlocked motor vehicle and remove his wallet. Several fraudulent charges were made.

WOODBRIDGE ST
At 1:30 p.m., Cambridge Police were dispatched to Woodbridge Avenue to meet someone who wanted to surrender a firearm. He stated that he found the rifle in his basement which he had all but forgotten about. The rifle is a Browning bolt action .22LR and it is heavily rusted. The officer was unable to clear the rifle because the bolt is rusted in place. The safety is not engaged and it too is rusted in place. The owner was quite clear that he wanted the rifle destroyed. He said that he registered the rifle with the Cambridge Police about thirty years ago.

Cambridge Police pulled over an uninsured motor vehicle on a public way at the intersection of First Street and Cambridge Street. A Malden resident is being summonsed for Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Unregistered Motor Vehicle.
