Cambridge Police were summoned to Mass. Ave. for a disturbance between two parties. One resident and a friend got into a physical altercation. The resident claims the friend would not leave. The friend claims the resident would not let her leave. Both parties claimed to have been assaulted by the other.

Mary Florentino, 48, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, was arrested due to having two warrants issued for her. The first warrant is issued out of Cambridge District Court for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The second warrant is issued out of Cambridge District Court for Possession of Class B Drug.

A Somerville resident reported the theft of her bicycle. Her bright teal mountain bike was stolen from the bike stand area outside of a store in Porter Square at approximately 5 a.m. Store surveillance cameras appear to have captured the incident.

A local retail establishment reported that a white male wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, backwards ball cap, gray shorts and grey and white sneakers, carrying a black bag entered the store at 05:14pm. While in the store the individual is seen removing security sensors using his teeth and placing the items into his bag and exiting the store without paying the monetary value of the products. The total loss was estimated to be $432.

A local retail establishment reported that on 9/23/19, a black male with light facial hair, wearing a black T-shirt with a white and gray logo in front, blue ripped jeans, black and white sneakers carrying a Marshall's reusable bag entered the store at 5:56 p.m. While in the store, the individual is seen walking to the first display case, continuously place piles of clothes into the bag and immediately exiting the store at 5:57 p.m. The total value was approximately $997.15.

A Fitchburg resident reported the theft of his messenger bag. It had been taken from a common area while he was working at York Street this afternoon between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. It contained his ID, credit and debit cards and work materials.

B&E MV / BOAT NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY C266 S16

FRANKLIN ST
Cambridge Police responded to Franklin Street in regards to a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed a male restraining the Defendant (John Chute, 39, homeless) on the ground. Officers discovered that the boyfriend of the vehicle owner was about to run an errand when he noticed Chute in the front seat of his girlfriend's vehicle. Chute was rummaging around the interior of the vehicle with an open pocket knife on his lap. Chute then began to move towards the boyfriend in a threatening manner - the boyfriend then struck Chute in the face several times and held him down until police arrived. Chute was placed under arrest and he is being charged with one count of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Nighttime for Felony.

A Market Street resident reports that on 9/25/19 at approximately 8:30 a.m. he received a fraudulent email from a person whom he thought was the CEO of his company. This emailed requested that the victim purchase iTunes gift cards. The victim eventually realized that the email was not sent from the CEO of his company and that someone was attempting to scam him.
