Arrests Made in Cambridge Stabbing

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 4 years ago.

On Sunday, February 16 at approximately 10 p.m., several youth were seen jumping on cars on Hingham Street in Cambridge. A driver of one car, confronted the youth and received non-life threatening injuries from being slashed and stabbed. Responding police units began to develop information into possible suspects. Investigating officers were then able to piece together evidence of this crime as well as a regional commercial breaking and entering pattern involving Cambridge, Medford, Somerville, Melrose, Belmont, Wakefield, and Wayland involving individuals who were targeting gas stations and markets where ATMs, cash registers, and lottery tickets were stolen. In Wayland, two Lamborghini vehicles whose value was in excess of $550,000, were stolen from a dealership and then crashed in Malden causing extensive damage and injuring a driver of another vehicle, who was transported to a local hospital. Coordination with the regional Police Departments and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office resulted in the arrests of Elijah McKinney, 18, Cambridge; Christian Virgile, 18, Malden; and a 17-year-old Cambridge juvenile. All three have been charged with the incident on Hingham Street as well as several other crimes committed during this criminal spree. Investigation(s) continue throughout the region and we anticipate additional criminal charges will be filed.
