Javier Barros-Paterson, 24, 16 Athelwold in Dorcehster, was arrested for Defacing or Damaging Property after he was viewed spray painting multiple trash cans and poles in Central Sq. Barros-Paterson was with Issa Hamilton, 24, 104 Crawford Street in Dorchester, who was also arrested for Defacing or Damaging Property after he was viewed spray painting the same multiple trash cans and poles in Central Sq. Hamilton was also charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D after five individually packed sandwich bags containing marijuana, an electronic scale, and a roll of unused empty sandwich bags were found in his backpack during his arrest.

A Honda CRV was observed sitting in the middle of the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street during a red light, creating gridlock for cross traffic. A motor vehicle stop on the vehicle revealed its driver did not possess a driver’s license to operate the vehicle. He was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and creating gridlock.

Tommy Gedeus, 29, 444 Harrison Avenue in Boston, was arrested for Shoplifting by Asportation, Malicious Destruction of Property under $1,200, Unlawful Deactivation or Removal of Theft Detection Devices, Trespassing, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon to Wit Shot Foot and Resisting Arrest. Gedeus was also found to have warrants. Police responded to a department store in Cambridge for the report of an uncooperative shoplifter being detained by loss prevention who was being verbally combative. The defendant had confronted Loss Prevention staff after exiting and then reentered the store with stolen merchandise, which was later found to be damaged due to the removal of theft protection devices. He was verbally aggressive with Loss Prevention on the way to their office prior to the arrival of police. Eventual identification of Gedeus revealed that he had warrants out of Cambridge District Court (Breaking and Entering Nighttime for Felony, Trespass) and Somerville District Court (Receiving Stolen Credit Card and Improper Credit Card Use Use Over $1200). After being placed under arrest, Gedeus kicked a police officer after becoming resistant while in custody, refusing to obey orders and remain compliant.

Cambridge Police observed a motor vehicle traveling eastbound on Massachusetts Avenue and it was determined that the registered owner currently had a suspended license and the vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as a resident of Chelsea, who is indeed the vehicle's owner. Three open containers of alcohol were discovered in the vehicle during an inventory search of the vehicle. The driver was summonsed to Cambridge District Court for Operating with a Suspended License, Having an Open Containers of Alcohol Inside of a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Submit a Motor Vehicle for Inspection.
