An East Weymouth resident was issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation, which contained a summons for failure to stop for a red light and unlicensed operation, after he had driven through a red light and proceeded to crash into a motor vehicle that was legally driving across the intersection of Columbia Street and Hampshire Street.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Two residents of Malden were summonsed to Cambridge District Court for Larceny Under $1200. Both defendants were observed on video surveillance removing and walking away with a delivered box from a residence stoop. The victim observed the larceny and reported it to Cambridge Police. Cambridge Police search the general area and located both defendants, who matched the given descriptions. The defendants were found to be in possession of a black coat and a set of gloves, which were the property of the victim.

Cambridge Police Explosive Ordnance Unit responded to a gas station for report of a baggie of white powder that was found in the bathroom. Upon arrival, and with the assistance of Cambridge Fire Rescue and Hazmat, it was determined to be a baggie of illicit narcotics.

BLACKSTONE ST
Cambridge Police summonsed a resident of Cambridge for leaving the scene of a crash with property damage. The resident’s vehicle was observed by a witness crash into a parked car on Blackstone Street, which caused damage to that vehicle. The witness observed the driver stop to get out of the car and then returned into the vehicle to drive away.

Cambridge Police arrested Anachy Candelario, 33, 286 Boston Street in Lynn, for a warrant out of Salem District Court. Cambridge Police pulled over Candelario for using her cell phone while driving. Officers requested Candelario driver’s license, but she failed to provide one. After further investigation it was determined that Candelario had a warrant out of Salem District Court for an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

A Revere resident came into the station to report a flimflam/identity fraud involving her applying for a loan online by providing her personal information. She was advised to purchase a gift card to pay for the loan for $680. A check was deposited into her account on 3/5/20 and returned on 3/9/20. The victim stated she went to a bank on Massachusetts Avenue to report the fraudulent activity and was advised to report it to the Cambridge Police.

A Cambridge resident from Rogers Street came into to report she had observed an individual enter her apartment with a key earlier this morning. The resident stated the suspect opened the door stepped into the apartment, looked at the surveillance camera and immediately exited the apartment. The resident was not sure, but believed the suspect was possibly the concierge to the building. It did not appear that anything was taken.

A Cambridge resident from Huron Avenue came into station to report a flim flam. She was contacted by unknown persons via cell phone on 3/12/2020 in regards to her computer being hacked. Two different males contacted the victim via cell phone and scammed her into purchasing two gift cards at $500. The victim later learned her computer was compromised and the gift cards were cashed in.

Cambridge Police arrested one, Nicholas Minichiello, 40, homeless, for a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Receiving Stolen Property $1,200. After a brief investigation, it was discovered that Minichiello was in possession of a stolen bicycle. Subsequently, Minichiello was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200.

Cambridge Police responded to a Holworthy Street residence for a flim flam report. Upon arriving on scene and making contact with the reporting party/victim, it was determined that $100 in gift cards had been fraudulently purchased.

Cambridge Police and Fire Units responded to JFK Street at Winthrop Street for an unattended/ suspicious bag. The bag was cleared by a bomb tech with a K-9 and removed from the area for disposal.

CHARLES ST
A resident of Somerville was summonsed for OUI Drugs, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Improper Operation of a Motor Vehicle after his motor vehicle was stopped taking a right turn from First Street on to Charles Street in violation of the "One Way" street and posted "Do Not Enter" signs. He was discovered to have an expired and non-renewable license. During the stop, the resident fled the scene, was apprehended after a brief foot chase and administered a battery by a Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be under the influence of drugs and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.
