Rudy Acosta, 20 40 Walnut Street in Dorchester, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Shoplifting and Resisting Arrest, after he was observed by security, concealing items inside of his bag, and tampering with a theft detection device using a pair of pliers. Acosta then exited the store without paying for the items. When security and Cambridge Police placed a stop on Acosta, he attempted to flee the scene.

A resident of Boston shoplifted items from a department store. The defendant was later stopped with the merchandise after fleeing the mall on foot. The merchandise was returned to store employees and the defendant is being summoned for the charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

THIRD ST
A Cambridge resident reported an extortion attempt. A suspect claiming to be a computer technician seized control of her computer and sought $1,800 in gift cards to free it. The victim did not pay, but believes her personal information has been compromised.
