James Hook, 52, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, after he attempted to steal a donation jar from a Cambridge Street convenience store. When confronted by the manager, Hook threatened to stab him.

CPD received a call from an employee of a local convenience store reporting a past shoplifting. He reported that on 8/02/2020 an unknown suspect stole several hundred dollars worth of condoms from the store.

CPD received a call from a woman whose car was broken into on Monday here in Cambridge. Several prescriptions were stolen along with a credit card.

A Cambridge resident called CPD to report that she was almost the victim of a telephone scam. She received a call from someone claiming to be a "lawyer" who was representing her grandson and was being held by the police. He requested her to send a large amount of money to secure his release. She never sent the money.

PEARL ST
Cambridge Police responded to a Pearl Street residence for a report of suspicious activity. A resident reported that an intoxicated man entered her apartment through an unlocked door. Officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail.
