ALEWIFE BROOK PKWY
Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in a parking lot located near Alewife Parkway. The vehicle, a 2011 Toyota Prius, was traveling north in the parking lot. The operator stated that he was driving the vehicle when the brakes failed working causing the vehicle to collide with a parking safety barrier. This caused heavy front-end damage and front air bag deployment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and per the owner was towed to a private property. The operator was evaluated by Pro EMS, but refused to be transported.

WHITE ST
Cambridge Police responded for a report of a disturbance at a pharmacy retail store located at White Street after it was reported that a male had physically assaulted one of the elderly employees after he was observed shoplifting several items and fled into the Porter Square MBTA station. Cambridge Police and MBTA officers were able to locate the suspect and subsequently arrested Justin Clark, 27, homeless. Clark was charged with Assault and Battery on a Person Over 60 after he punched an elderly employee in the face and head multiple times with a closed fist and Shoplifting by Asportation when he was observed leaving the store with items in his jacket pocket that he did not pay for. While being booked, it was discovered that Clark had a warrant out of Boston District Court for Possession of Class C Drugs and Inhaling a Toxic Substance.
