MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Officers responded to a report from bank staff that a suspect just pulled a fire alarm and ran into the T station. Officers stopped and then confirmed that the suspect – David Carr, 60, 444 Harrison Avenue in Boston -- had a warrant for threats to commit a crime out of Brighton Municipal Court. He was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Cambridge Police responded to a Central Square business for a report of past suspicious activity. Specifically, an unknown suspect used counterfeit money to purchase items on Saturday January 29, 2022.

BROADWAY
Cambridge Police responded to a hotel on Broadway for a report of suspicious activity. As a result of the call for service, Officers placed Nathaniel Washington, 35, 75 Scotch Pond Place in Quincy, under arrest for a warrant out of Brockton District Court for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, marked lanes violation, and a warrant out of Brookline District Court for trespassing. In addition, Stephanie Powers, 41, 9 Massasoit Avenue in Hull, was placed under arrest for a warrant out of New Bedford District Court for speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

A resident of Cambridge called the CPD Teleserve to report that an unknown suspect gained entry into her apartment building's bicycle storage unit and stole her bicycle. The Bicycle is worth $750.

BROOKLINE ST
A resident of Cambridge called to report a larceny. The resident states on 1/31/2022 she attempted to sell an itemvia Facebook Marketplace to a suspect who she thought was a buyer. The suspect told the victim that she would receive a deposit of $1000 for payment of the item, but the victim would have to transfer $750 to the suspect prior to the victim receiving the $1000. The victim agreed and transferred $750 to the suspect. The victim states she never received the $1000 from the suspect.

A resident of Cambridge called to report a larceny. The victim states on 1/19/2022 she received and email about a "Norton 360 Software" renewal. The victim replied to the email and was instructed that her computer "Norton 360" needed to be updated. The victim then allowed the suspect access to her computer at which point the suspect stated they mistakenly deposited over $5000 into the victim’s bank account. The suspect then instructed the victim to provide gift cards in the amount that was mistakenly deposited. The victim provide the suspect $3000 worth of gift cards to the suspect.

As a result of this call, Cruz Vasquez, 29, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, was placed under arrest for the following crimes: Shoplifting by Asportation, Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
