The Cambridge Police Department today announced the recovery of a loaded firearm, more than 260 tablets of suspected methamphetamine and other drugs, and an arrest following an investigation into a Saturday morning home invasion. A 19-year-old Cambridge man was taken into custody.
The investigation determined that Ahmed Farsab, 19, Cambridge, allegedly broke into a Prospect Street residence on Saturday morning by entering through the victim’s window and threatening the victim with a firearm in hopes of collecting a debt owed by the victim. The victim was able to escape from his residence and call the Cambridge Police from a phone at a nearby business. Officers quickly arrived at the business and obtained a description of the suspect from the victim.
Responding Officers observed who they believed to be Farsab driving in a nearby vehicle and safely stopped the operator at the intersection of Cambridge and Elm Street. After explaining the reasons for their stop, Farsab was positively identified as the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle. While conducting a search of Farsab, Officers recovered a loaded, illegal firearm, along with cash, multiple phones, bags of pills and marijuana, and several stolen identities. He was taken into custody and Farsab’s vehicle was towed from the scene for further investigation. A search warrant was granted and executed inside of Farsab’s vehicle; items recovered, included multiple cell phones, ziplock bags and plastic packaging materials, digital scales, methamphetamine, and other narcotics, as well as property from the victim’s residence.
Farsab faces the following charges:
Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
Home Invasion
Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
Possession of a Class E Drug
Possession to Distribute a Class D Drug
Trafficking Methamphetamine.
He was expected to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court today.
