Cambridge Police were monitoring traffic in the area of Brookline Street. At this time, officers observed a dark-colored Audi SUV that was reported stolen. When Officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop, the Audi SUV fled at a high rate of speed. A second involved vehicle that was later reported stolen was following the Audi SUV and also fled at a high-rate of speed. The second vehicle was involved in a single motor vehicle crash and the operator evaded officers on foot. The Audi SUV was later located and a juvenile was placed under arrest.

Cambridge Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Windsor Street. During an investigation, it was discovered that the operator, Robert Loper, 26, unhoused in Cambridge, currently had a suspended license and a warrant for various firearm-related offenses. During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to being towed, a backpack was observed inside of the trunk of the vehicle. An inventory search of the bag revealed numerous packages of suspected marijuana, numerous packages of suspected fentanyl, and other items consistent with drug distribution. Loper will be charged in Cambridge District Court with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, and Motor Vehicle Lights Violation.

Charles Darcy, 55, unhoused, and Edward Senay Jr., 45, unhoused, and Kimba Coughlin, 37, 249 Garden Street in Cambridge, were placed under arrest after it was discovered that they each had active warrants. Darcy also was in possession of unprescribed loose pills and 26.3 grams of methamphetamine pills. A playground was approximately 50 feet from the offense location.

Cambridge Police responded to a hit and run crash with personal injury to a pedestrian. Further investigation revealed that the crash was not a hit and run. The involved operator stopped and asked the pedestrian if they were okay and they pedestrian stated they were okay. The operator returned to the crash scene and identified themselves to police during the investigation. The pedestrian sustained an abrasion and scratches on his back; he was evaluated by EMTs on scene and refused to be transported to a hospital for further evaluations.

A victim walked up to me in a panic and reported her black backpack was just stolen from her and the male ran down the street and possibly to the train station. The suspect was found in the Harvard MBTA Station on an outbound train going into Boston. A suspect had a black backpack in his possession. Edwin Nickerson, 24, 423 Eastern Avenue in Chelsea, was arrested for larceny from a person and was transported to the station via the wagon.
