Cambridge Police were flagged down in Central Square at the Cambridge Police Substation to report a crime that occurred on 7/19/23. The victim reported that a known suspect attempted to steal their handbag while it was secured around their neck. The victim sustained minor injuries to their neck but declined medical treatment. A report was taken.

Cambridge Police were flagged down on Broadway for a report of a hit and run crash involving a bicycle. The bicyclist reported that they were riding in the bicycle lane on Hampshire Street and attempted to take a turn left onto Broadway when they were struck by a door of a vehicle causing them to fall off their bicycle. The motorist subsequently fled the scene, but a witness was able to take a picture of their license plate. The bicyclist sustained injuries to their left arm and a cut to their left ankle but declined medical treatment. A crash report was taken.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the reporting party that indicated that the suspects had rented their apartment through an online booking agency and the credit card used to secure the reservation was declined. The suspects subsequently fled the scene without further incident. A report was taken.

Cambridge Police responded to Garden Street for a report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle. It was reported that the bicyclist was traveling on Garden Street and was stuck by the motorist in the intersection traveling east on Chauncy Street. The bicyclist reported no injuries, they were evaluated by Pro EMS and Cambridge Fire and signed a refusal form. The motorist was issued a citation for Failure to Stop/Yield. A crash report was taken.

Cambridge Police responded to the area of Magazine Street regarding a disturbance. It was reported that a person walking their dogs encountered a couple with a dog. The dog belonging to the couple began acting aggressively, ultimately causing them to fall to the ground after the dog leashes became tangled. They reported that the couple’s dog had bitten them in their left leg, however they declined medical treatment. A report was taken.
