Police responded to a business in the 500 block of Massachusetts Avenue for an unwanted party on location. When police arrived, security at the business directed officers to an individual fleeing with merchandise that was not paid for. The individual ignored the officer’s verbal commands. Officers located a steak knife, wire cutters and multiple items taken from the business on the individual. Parbir Batra, 43, of Boston, was placed under arrest for shoplifting, possession of a theft prevention removal device, trespassing and carrying a dangerous weapon during a breach of peace incident.
