A nine percent increase in serious crime has been registered over the first two months of 2015. From January 1st of 2015 to March 2nd of this year, there were 350 serious index crimes reported in Cambridge.

Further analysis of the crime totals for the first two months of 2015 indicates that while violent crimes registered a 11% decrease with five fewer incidents to start the year, property crimes rose 12% with 34 more crimes counted when compared with January and February of 2014.
