An analysis of the serious crime statistics for the first five months of 2024 points to a 1% increase in
the Part One index total for Cambridge when compared with the first five months of 2023. Through
June 3rd of 2024, there were 1,253 serious crimes reported in the City. For the same time period in
2023, the combined total for Murder, Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Larceny & Auto
theft was 1,244 incidents, just nine incidents less. However, despite being on par with last year, a 19%
rise in the crime index has still been registered when measured against the five-year weighted
average.
