About
Located in Mid-Cambridge, the Main Library consists of two wings. The historic stone Richardsonian building, designed by Van Brunt and Howe, opened in 1889. The new glass addition, designed by William Rawn Associates, opened in 2009. At that time, the original stone building was renovated by Ann Beha and Associates. The Main Library is silver LEED certified and has won numerous awards, including the 2010 Harleston Parker Medal from the Boston Society of Architects.
