Director's Update, December 22, 2024

Dear Patrons,

Best wishes for a happy holiday season to you and your loved ones.  All Library locations will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, for Christmas.        

Changes to Booking a Museum Pass

We have a new museum pass reservation system. All December bookings from our previous system will be honored. Please use the new system to book passes for 2025.

This week, these programs will be offered at our Boudreau, Central Square, Main, O’Connell, O’Neill, and Valente locations.

There will be no ESOL classes this week. Classes will resume as usual on Monday, January 6.

Tech Help

Nintendo Switch Party (Valente)
Monday, December 23

We will be using library consoles to enjoy multiplayer games. This program is for ages 11-14. This program can accommodate 16 gamers. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The gamer must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly, and any unclaimed spots will be offered to someone waiting. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please call 617-349-4015 for further details.

Fiber Arts Circle (Central Square)
Thursday, December 26
4-5 p.m.

Bring your project and come join other fiber crafters in your community! Crochet, sew, embroider, knit, cross stitch, spin, mend, and more at this informal drop-in fiber arts circle. All crafts are welcome!

Free Drop-in Tutoring for Teens (Main)
Thursday, December 26
5-6 p.m.

Need help with a class? Have a question before an exam? Tutors are available to help you! Cambridge School Volunteers and the Library are pleased to offer tutoring services in the Teen Room. No registration required. Stop by the Teen Room or call 617-349-4027 to learn more.

Coffee, Cribbage and Chess! (Boudreau)

Join us on the fourth Friday of the month for coffee, treats, and games (Chess, Cribbage, Rummikub, etc.). Bring a friend or meet a new one at the library!

Family Movie at the Library - The Wild Robot (O'Neill)
Friday, December 27
2-3:45 p.m.

Join us over winter vacation for a cozy family movie at the Library! We will be screening The Wild Robot (Universal Pictures, rated PG). Snacks will be provided.

Winter Vacation Boredom Busters (Valente)
Friday, December 27
3-5 p.m.

Drop by the Children's Area at Valente to pick up logic puzzles, word searches, color-by-number pages, and other winter themed activities. Hang out at the library or take them home with you for later! No registration is required for this drop-in event.

Drop-In Crafts (O'Neill)
Saturday, December 28
2-4 p.m.

Drop-in for open crafting time at the Library! This event is for people of all ages and no registration is required.
