Car Fire on Museum Way at Charles River Dam Rd opposite the Museum of Science

Shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 2nd, during the heavy rush-hour traffic, firefighters from Engine 3 and Ladder 2 from the East Cambridge fire house, with Division Chief 1, responded to the car fully involved on Museum Way at the corner of Charles River Dam Road (O'Brien Highway) opposite the Museum of Science.

Firefighters dressed in full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and breathing from SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) quickly contained and extinguished the fire. One traffic control signal was also damaged by the fire. 

There were no injuries reported.

Cambridge Police officers and Mass State Police troopers were on scene for traffic control and pedestrian safety.
