Ice & Cold Water Rescue Training Review:
On Wednesday, January, 26th, Firefighters from Rescue Company No. 1 reviewed Ice and Cold Water Rescue procedures on the frozen Charles River. Group 3 was on duty.
Remember: Stay off the ice! In spite of the bitterly cold weather, river ice is never safe due to the currents and water movement under the surface.
If someone (or a dog) is in trouble, call 911 right away. Trained and equipped firefighters will arrive quickly to make that rescue.
