This spring, make the time to schedule a few minutes to review the emergency escape plan with the older adults in your lifre.
Older adults are much more susceptible to injury & death in a fire than young people. Help them to stay safe.
-Include essential items such as eye glasses, hearing devices, meds, cell phones, walkers, etc. in the emergency escape plan.
-Ensure that the exits are clear & accessible.
-Eliminate trip hazards.
-Check smoke & CO alarms.
-Always include the pets in the exit plan too!
And remember that some of our older folks may need guidance in working through the emergency escape plan.
