Chief Gerard Mahoney and members of the Cambridge Fire Department recognize and celebrate Juneteenth.

Named from combining the words June and nineteenth, this day is set aside to honor the end of slavery in the United States & is the longest running African American holiday since 1865. On June 17th last year, Juneteenth was officially designated as a federal holiday.

Thank you to our African-American firefighter sisters & brothers for their faithful service.

Stay Brave & Stay Vigilant!
