Two alarms were ordered for the fire in a multiple residence on Copley St

Shortly before 11 o'clock this morning, September 22nd, 2-alarms were ordered for the fire in a multiple residence on Copley Street. Responding firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the fire in the large 2 1/2 story, wood-frame residence. No injuries were reported. 

Approximately 45 firefighters from 6 engine companies, 4 ladder companies, the Rescue, and 2 squads worked at the fire. Group 1 was on duty.

Thank you to Cambridge Police for assisting with traffic control and pedestrian safety at the scene. Thank you to PRO EMS for the emergency medical standby and thanks to Cambridge Emergency Communications staff for coordinating the communications at the fire.

Thank you also to our mutual aid partners for providing coverage in Cambridge and responding to unrelated emergency calls during the fire.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
