Squad 3 placed in service on April 3rd

A new fire department unit, Squad 3, went into service at 951 a.m. on  April 3, 2023.
Enhancing the the city's advanced life support as well as firefighting & technical rescue capabilities, Squad 3 is a tactical paramedic unit, and at this time will respond from the Inman Square fire house. The squad is staffed with a fire officer and a firefighter.
The apparatus is a Ford 550XLT four door cab, four wheel drive truck with a Pierce body.


Special Thank You to members of the Motor Squad, Tech Services, PSIT (Public Safety Information Technology), Emergency Communications & the many others who contributed to final outfitting of the truck.

Paramedic Service was initiated by the Cambridge Fire Department in May of 2005. Currently Engine 1, Rescue 1, Squads 2, 3 and 4 are paramedic/advanced life support companies.
