At approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 30, 2013, Cambridge Police responded to a report of a bank robbery on Alewife Brook Parkway.
A female allegedly entered the bank, passed a note to the teller, and fled without obtaining any money. No weapons were shown or injuries reported.
Units stopped a female suspect in the area and detectives were able to positively identify her from security photos taken at an earlier bank robbery which occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge.

Jessica Whalen, 35, of 490 Union Street in Rockland, MA was arrested and charged with two counts of Attempt to Commit a Crime to wit Unarmed Robbery for the attempted bank robberies on Massachusetts Avenue and Alewife Brook Parkway.
“This arrest is the result of good police work,” said Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas. “Our officers and detectives responded quickly, worked together to apprehend the suspect, and were able to connect the two events and arrest the person responsible for both robberies.”
