A Dorchester resident was transported to a hospital and attempted to leave prior to being cleared by a physician. The individual was heavily intoxicated and was instructed by a Cambridge Police Officer that he was under Protective Custody due to his medical needs and incapacitation due to alcohol consumption. The individual resisted several verbal commands and a physical struggle ensued between the patient and the police officer. The patient was eventually restrained by physical force and is undergoing medical treatment inside the facility. This patient will be summonsed to court for Assault & Battery on Police Officer.
